    Do I have to use spermicidal jelly?
    We strongly recommend it, the [    effectivness] of lea(R)contraceptivum is higher when used with [spermicidal jelly]. It is your choice however.
    For Example: Some women, who used diaphragm for contraception before, feel safe in handling lea(R)contraceptivum, trust this method and enjoy not to use [spermicidal jelly].

    Can I convince myself of the effectivness?
    yes: Insert lea(R)contraceptivum. Than pull the loop, as if one removes a tampon. If lea(R)contraceptivum can be pulled out in such a way, the necessary sucction did not build up. Start over again and insert lea(R)contraceptivum. Pay attention to the ammount of spermicidal jelly used. Correct is a haselnut-equivalent given in the lower third to the edge to the valve. In no case smear close the exit to the valve. This would obstruct the air flow, which is necessary to build the sucction that keeps lea(R)contraceptivum in place over the cervix.

    How do I remove lea(R)contraceptivum?
    For contraceptive effectiveness lea(R)contraceptivum should be left in place at least eight hours after the last occurrence of sexual intercourse.
    To remove, grasp the control loop and gently twist it to break the suction. Or simply tuck the finger slowly under the edge. If the suction is broken, you can pull you out easily.
